What are some wise moves that austria-hungary could have made or did make during WW1?
Q. My class is doing a World War 1 simulation and I am the general for Austria-Hungary. I was wondering what some wise moves to make would be. Its 1916, and i have already lost Galacia (the northeast corner of my country) to the Russians. Serbia and i have a fragile agreement going on currently.

What is involved in importing a car to Austria from the US?
Q. I need information on importing a car to Austria from the US. The car is a 2003 BMW 330i. What tariffs, mods to the car, and other fees are associated? An approximate cost would be great. Thanks. Austria, NOT Australia. Because I don't want to buy a new car right now.

You can burry yourself into it so much is it and it is great for wintersport, very smooth! The village I live in is four hours or something away from the alps but we have a lot of snow here. At christmas everything is white, but also cold and wet^^ Hope I could help you, if you need any information feel free to ask me =)

What is the name of the garden in Austria which contains a load of hidden pranks around the garden?
Q. I went to Austria as a child (must be about 10 years back now) and we visited a garden, which, if my memory is correct was designed and built for a Prince. The only thing I can remember of it is that it had an outdoor table/chair set which squirted water at you when you sat down. Does anyone know the name of this place? I'm sorry I have no idea where in Austria this was.

A. From my knowledge, both Austria and Germany are in the Schengen zone, so you just need the visa for that. And yes, you can go home from wherever in the Schengen zone you like, provided you have the Schengen visa.

Q. I'm trying to find information on an Austrian-based company, and since it's a private company, it is not listed in any of the exchange boards. A. hi, You should absoultely visit Vienna (trains from Salzburg operate every hour) - look at www.vienna.info for information about what to see and what to do (i think it will be easier as I don't know in what you're interested in) When you are in Salzburg you can take the "the sound of music tour" and visit Mozart's birthplace and the "Wasserspiele" in Hellbrunn - look at for more detailed information Look at for accomodation in Salzburg - you can specify the maximum you want to spend and the type of accomodation For accomodation in Zell am See and activities look at (sorry - this site is only available in german) here is another english site: if you have any further questions feel free to contact me! greets from austria, ines

How can I find American expats in Austria?
Q. Just wondering how I could find some fellow Americans over there -- you know living abroad? Particularly in Austria and particularly in Vienna.
Asked by animal lover - Fri Apr 13 20:07:39 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Hang out at McDonald's ;-) or look for any big Sports Bars that may subscribe to American games. The other option is to check out your local Craig's List, link to the Vienna list below. Often times people will post under "groups" or etc, or you can post your own ad free of charge. Finally, try contacting the American Embassy. Odds are decent they'll know of social clubs, card nights and so on sponsored by expats or long-term transfer workers from the US. Good luck.

How long is it from France to Austria by train?
Q. Can anyone tell me how long will it take to go from France to Austria by train? And around how much would i pay for a roundtrip ticket?
Asked by Noony - Wed Jun 3 08:38:27 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. From France to Austria by train is a long way - believe me, I do it quite often (although i only go to strasbourg - did it just this weekend actually ^_^). The old orient express used to go all the way from Paris to Vienna (and even further in the long gone olden days) but because there is a Paris/Strasbourg TGV connection that is now obsolete. I have no idea how much that costs, but i don't think it's too bad. Assuming you arrive in Paris, you'll go from Paris -> Strasbourg (about 3 hours I think), hang around in Strasbourg for a bit, and then Strasbourg -> Vienna night train. Book online ( www.oebb.at ) far enough in advance and a 2nd class seating compartment ticket costs just 29 (!) which is a ridiculous bargain and usually… [cont.]

Q. I will be heading from Toronto to Austria at end of June and then onto Hungary. I was originally looking at trains, but if the drive is easy, then i would like to explore that option. I'm just worried about navigating the highway, Traffic and deciphering road signs - are they in English ? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

A. Hi, I think it would be easy to navigate on the Austrian side, on the Hungarian side it is just a straight line of highway. The Michelin site says it takes 4 hours of driving and 417 kms. Regards, JH, www.bphome.hu

A. Hard question to answer without you telling your citizenship. Looking in your first question "What's the best acoustic guitar to purchase around $300" it can be assumed that you are a citizen of a country using the dollar as currency. However there are still a lot of countries around the world doing so. Citizens of Anguilla (BNO), Australia, Canada, Hong Kong SAR, Montserrat (BNO), New Zealand, Singapore, and the United States may travel visa-free to Austria for up to 90 days in a six months period on a passport which is valid on arrival. You may travel on the first day you have received your passport. If you should be a citizen of Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Christopher and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the… [cont.]

Asked by Noony - Wed Jun 3 08:43:32 2009 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments

A. Well where in Austria? If you're talking about Linz or Graz, it'll be dirt cheap provided you don't want to live in the absolute centre. If you're going to Vienna, look into the possibility of getting a double room in student accomodation (studentenheim), as that can be really cheap and is a great way to meet people - that's what I'm doing. Quite a few cater for couples. You didn't really say where you wanted to go, but generally every city in Austria is astonishingly safe (despite what they say about Eastern European gangs coming to rape the children and burn down vienna - it still hasn't happened), and the usual car / bike thefts are common but exist everywhere in the world. Q. I migrated form Nigeria with a BS. In economics to Vienna Austria in 2001 got married and of resent expecting a child, had always wanted to work for an international organization like the UN or OPEC in Vienna but ever since then, to no avail. Please advise me on what to do to achieve my aim

A. You may need to get a graduate degree in economics. Most international organizations recruit economics phd's for their main departments. You could also try another route and see which fields are currently in demand - positions for language interpreters, human resources specialists and technology specialists are usually available in these organizations. Good luck!

What kinds of vehicle (trucks and cars) models are common to the Switzerland/Austria area?
Q. I know that Australia has different models than America does for some vehicles and companies, but I need some examples of truck and car models that are commonly found in Switzerland and Austria. Someone please help me!

A. You won't find a lot of trucks in Switzerland. For example, Ford does not export it's F150 to Switzerland, and other US car companie either. You will find that the Swiss use a lot of Subarus as "working cars." Obviousely, you'll see a lot of Audi, VW, Renauts, Peugeots and Fiats in Switzerland. What car are you exactly looking for and for what use?
