What are a reasonable amount of chores and allowance?
Q. What are some good chores that a 12 year old girl should do daily. And what is a good amount of allowance she should get weekly. And is it better to give her a small amount daily or a bigger amount weekly. I need your thoughts and opinions please.
Asked by m00c0w - Fri Apr 6 15:32:08 2007 - - 16 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I think you should pay her weekly since most adults get their paychecks weekly or every other week. It helps her to learn to save her money a bit since she won't get anymore for another week (assuming you don't give her money every time she asks for it). I think it would be reasonable to have her keep her room clean, take out the garbage, learn to wash her own clothes (including folding and putting them away), mowing the lawn, raking leaves, clean up after the dog/cat, walk the dog, feed the pets, vacuuming the floors, dusting, empty the dishwasher, etc... are all good chores. I wouldn't make her do all of them, just pick the ones that are most suitable for you and your daughter. How much you pay her should depend on how much you have… [cont.]

A. I'd say that if you just want to practice and you don't care about making money at first. Then $10,000 would be a good amount to start with. If you trade with less money than that. Then your comission costs will be too high relative to your trading profits. And you may end up loosing money even if you do relatively well in terms of trading. Which can be discouraging. But there is a way to practice without any real money at all. You can open a free account and practice trading with virtual money at this website:

Why is my IRS direct deposit amount different than the amount I filed for?
Q. The amount overpaid on my filed taxes was $1673. That is the amount that should have been direct deposited into my bank account, but the IRS only made a direct deposit for $672. Any reason why this would be different and where the rest of my money is? When I log in to "check status" on the IRS site it accepts the $1673 as the login confirmation, so I know they recieved it like that.

A. Don't go to HSBC, jackson-hewritt or block. They did your taxes wrong AND charged you for a RAL with an outrageous annualized interest rate when you figure in all the fees and bank fees. If the IRS website is not working, call 1-800-829-1954 and you may be able to find out. Good luck
