How many Loses do You think I can Afford in my fantasy baseball league?
Q. Okay, This week my fantasy team lost. I am scared that this lost could be very important. This is a 20 team league with 21 regular season Matchups Matchup=1week). There are only 4 teams that make the playoffs. I NEED to make the playoffs. How many loses do you think I can have to still make the playoffs? P.S. If I win the championship, I win $400! So this is why I need some really thought-out answers!

A. I looked at this as a math question rather than a baseball question. If you look at it from a maximum and minimum perspective then the maximum and minimum number of losses that you can have to get into the playoffs can be determined. There are 20 teams who all play 21 games. For this I am assuming that every team plays each other once and then two random games. In the case that one team wins every game, and the 2nd place team wins every game except to the 1st place team, etc. Then the fourth place team will have only 3 losses. In the case that there is a tie for 1st place then the greatest it can be is a three way tie (as determined by the manner in which games are played) with records of 20-1. The fourth place team can't have a 19-2… [cont.]

Who loses the money when a company goes bankrupt due to dept?
Q. For example Woolworth's, now shutting its doors for the last time with a massive dept of 385 million. Who loses that money, i mean obviously the dept is due to purchases/rents/rate/sala ry, but they have already been paid. So is it the Bank which the loan was taken from that loses, or is it the unpaid purchases and so on? And also, why is a company the size (economically) running on a dept?

How to deal with a pregnant women when she loses her temper?
Q. I've got this pregnant coworker whose desk is right next to mine. She's expecting a baby in July. She used to be very sweet, but recently she loses her tempers a lot. I know sometimes it's hard to control yourself when you're pregnant, and I do like my co-worker, but as I said, it's a work place, we've got lots of work to do. She gives me a lot of pressure when she yells at other co-workers or even with clients on the phone. Any good ideas?

A. Try to let her know the best you can. Ha ha, I get agitated at myself because I get upset at the littlest thing. I'm trying to figure out how to deal with my own temper and can't stand how I am when I'm pregnant so I don't know how others can stand me pregnant. Try not to take an accusatory tone but as tactfully as possible let her know she is being somewhat obnoxious (of course, don't put it that way as it probably wouldn't go over well with her)..

What happens to a doggy when he loses his teeth?
Q. My doggy just started losing teeth (He has like, 4 missing teeth in the front of his mouth) and he's biting a lot more than he usually does.. A. It is called teething He is biting more because his gums are bugging him where the new teeth are coming in. Try giving him a toy which you have made wet and then froze. The coldness will help his gums and give him something to do. Like all puppies they tend to bite, you have to be the boss and tell him this is not polite. I am going to assume that you were training him not to bite before

What to do when a tyre constantly loses air?
Q. What should you do when a tyre constantly loses air? One of my front tyres is constantly losing air. For example, about 2 weeks ago, I set its pressure at 34psi, but yesterday I found that it was reduced to 20psi. Do you think I need to replace the tyre, or is there any other cause?
Asked by Michael - Sat Sep 5 07:14:48 2009 - - 13 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Check the valve. Besides that, you may have an embedded nail. One thing you could do is to fully inflate the tire, then begin brushing a soap solution all over it until you find the bubbles where air is escaping. Another possibility is your rim might be bent.

What happens to neutron stars as it loses energy?
Q. What does happen to a solitary neutron star as it loses it's angular momentum and loses heat? Does it stay a neutron star, supported by the strong nuclear force?
Asked by Mr Average Joe - Mon Apr 27 08:18:36 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I'm not sure I would use the term "heat", but instead use the word energy. The heat generated by neutron stars is caused by excitation of material around the spinning region of the core. This can be caused both by gravitational effects and/or magnetism. As time goes on, the core will slow down. Take a listen to the sounds on the link below. You'll hear what the differences are between an old and a young neutron star (pulsar).

A. Republican I think the Party will begin working on the mid-term elections to gain back some of the seats that are anticipated to be lost. I think they will also study the fund-raising success of the Democrats. It's amazing the amount of money raised during the months when the stock market tanked. They should also begin a voter registration program to rival the ACORN-type organizations. Quit complaining about their tactics and beat them at their own game.

What happens when a state loses a congressional district?
Q. Let's say a state loses a district because of the census. What would happen to the extra congressman.
Asked by Cantor2012 - Sun Feb 8 16:06:25 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. What happens is the state has to be reapportioned. If there were 16 Congressional Districts, now there are 15. If all 16 incumbents choose to run for the office, depending on where their voting residence is, they may have to face another incumbent. Some incumbent members under those circumstances will actually move (like, sell their house and move into a new one in a different district) so that they don't have to face a friendly or popular incumbent in the next general election.

A. History is made up of facts. Facts are nothing without interpretation (1812, George Washington, Dien Bien Phu, a grassy knoll...). When teachers, parents, school boards and politicians decide how they will teach a subject, they automatically add their own bias into the mix. No matter how "objective" they think they are being, they will focus more on male historic figures, will forget more Native American characters and will concentrate more on positive aspects of history rather than negative. In the end, no one loses from learning a particular version of history. We must simply seek out different versions and never let a single one become the ultimate truth. This is how discrimination is born, when a single version of events (concocted… [cont.]

A. Each week you will face off against another player. To outscore and beat your opponent your starting players have to score more total points than your opponents players. Points are gained from yards, TD's, and more so the better game a player has the more points you get.
